I’ve been running a fire stick with Kodi installed with very fast internet and it really struggles streaming HD content sometimes. Anyone have experience with the fire stick vs the fire TV with the Ethernet cable plugged directly into the fire tv? I’ve always wondered what the big difference was between the stick and the tv. My internet is 1 Gb/s.
do is a speed test on your laptop from wifi where the fire stick is at to plugging it into the router directly. probably 2-3x faster
makes all the difference which is why i use a fire tv and not a fire stick. even when i was running kodi off my laptop i would just plug an ethernet cord directly. kodi sucked in my basement where wifi was half the speed on a good day
just run an ethernet from router to near the TV and then plug it into an ethernet port. you can then have one line going from port to fire tv and another if you want to hardline your laptop to max out the speed. i have 3 lines....one going into the TV directly (smart tv like you just got), 2nd line going into a fire tv in a 2nd tv, and 3rd line going to a fire tv in the main tv.
i can watch a stream movie on big screen, espn+ off fire tv on 2nd screen, and a match on my laptop without any of the feeds being compromised
